HiLand’s partner, Lewwin Pharma, is pleased to announce that the main structure of its Phase III project has been successfully topped out, marking a major milestone in the construction of its new non-clinical research facility. The project, formally named the “Public Service Platform for Innovative Drug Evaluation and R&D Key Technologies”, is scheduled for completion by the end of this year.

The facility covers a land area of approximately 22,900 m² with a total construction area of about 101,900 m². It consists of eight main structures, including Laboratory Buildings A, B, and C; Dormitory Building D; three connecting corridors; and a basement. Building A, an 11-story structure (plus one basement level) with a total area of 23,575 m²,will primarily house drug safety evaluation laboratories, all constructed to meet GLP and AAALAC certification standards.

The facility’s animal research units are being purpose-built to support cutting-edge non-clinical studies. These include rabbit housing rooms, large animal rooms, SPF animal rooms, animal laboratories, washing areas, feed and bedding storage, and materials warehouses. The HVAC design incorporates a fresh-air, constant-temperature, constant-humidity purification system for SPF units, as well as dedicated air-conditioning and exhaust treatment systems for standard animal housing, ensuring compliance with international animal welfare and biosafety standards.

Upon completion, the new facility will serve as a state-of-the-art GLP-compliant platform for non-clinical pharmacology, toxicology, and safety evaluation, greatly expanding Lewwin’s capacity to provide high-standard services for global drug developers. This project represents a key step in strengthening the company’s role in advancing innovative medicine from discovery to clinical application.
